Each camp will be marked as "AVAILABLE" if there are openings. Updates will be made during my business days (M, T, W and F (not Th); pending inclement weather). A camp listed as "FULL" can still have students added to a wait-list!
Spend the summer at one of The Green Center’s Nature Explorer Camps! Each camp will have students explore our prairie, forest, wetland, greenhouse and discovery garden outdoor classrooms. Programming will take place both indoors and outdoors. Please note: Students do need to bring a lunch each day.

NATURE PLAY CAMP [FULL as of January 30; waiting list no longer available]

This 5-day camp will reconnect children to nature and offer them experiences to explore, discover and interact with the natural environment. Students will use their senses in the outdoors, learn about different habitats, identify plants and animals, create art projects, meet our chickens and explore our outdoor spaces each day!

NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY CAMP [FULL as of February 13; waiting list available]
*Register by May 30
Learn how to take nature photographs in our beautiful outdoor spaces in this 5-day camp. Students will learn the basics of using a digital camera, develop their photography skills by taking pictures in the natural settings of our outdoor spaces and participate in a variety of photography projects using their own photos. Cameras will be provided for students to use.

GET OUTDOORS CAMP [FULL as of Feb 16; waiting list available]

This 5-day camp will teach children to be creative with nature and discover new ways to get OUTside and play! Each day will be full of activities such as hiking, building forest forts, creating art projects out of natural materials, games and more!

Cost: $165.00 (includes all materials)

GREEN CHEF CAMP [FULL as of Feb 7; waiting list available]

Students will be cooking with nature in this 5-day camp. Learn about the plants we have in our gardens, how to grow them and use them to make delicious dishes. We will explore our native Missouri plants and learn about their medicinal uses, hunt for wild edibles and learn about chickens. Only hungry kids need apply!

Science & Art Summer Experience (SASE)
If your group would like to be considered to participate in this FREE program during the Summer of 2026, contact us!
The Science & Art Summer Experience (SASE) is a summer program for local under-served youth agencies & schools to foster a connection between children and the world of nature through hands-on activities. This program is made possible by a partnership with The Green Center, Missouri State Parks and MO Parks Association's Underserved Populations Outreach Program.
During this program, children explore the outdoor classrooms at The Green Center and Missouri State Parks & Historic Sites. Two weeks (Monday-Thursday) are available each summer. Please contact The Green Center if your school or youth agency would like to participate in one of these camps scheduled for June.
