Location & Buildings

Green Family Home

Located in University City since 1932, the Green Family Home serves as The Green Center's main building and offices.

Garden & Grounds

Situated around the Green Family Home sits the Roger Pryor Prairie, our greenhouse, and lots of garden beds - from herbs to veggies to native plants to ornamentals - TGC grows it all!

Kaufman Park Woods

The Green Center is proud to offer environmentally focused summer camp programs for St. Louis area children. We have over 200 children participate in our summer camps each year. Our camps emphasize enjoying, appreciating and understanding the 30 acres of woods, prairie and wetland that The Green Center offers. Youths also engage in artistic expression that is inspired by nature.

Urban Bird Corridor & Wetland

The Green Center also helps manage the prairie, wetland, and woodland located under a half mile away from our main building. With an entrance between Brittany Woods Middle School and the Ruth Park Golf Course, there are trails that take you back into the woods and immerse you a bit of forest bathing.

Ruth Park Woods

The 26 acre Ruth Park Woods is the last large stand of an oak/hickory hardwood forest in the St. Louis area. Located right in the heart of the metropolitan area, it is an oasis for avid bird lovers.

We hope You Visit Soon!
