Nature Journeys – Forest Bathing* & Awakening to Nature

Due to forecasted thunderstorms, this event has been postponed to Saturday, May 23
Connect with nature through guided activities to awaken your senses and mind to the beauty and depth of the urban forest, wetland and open spaces of Ruth Park Woods and nearby.

Led by TGC's first part-time Executive Director, Linda Wiggen Kraft, this 2 ½ hour nature journey includes guided meditations and simple creativity exercises. Guided meditations to connect with surroundings and a quiet mindfulness time in a sit spot are two of the activities. Observations are explored with simple writing and image mark making exercises.

Dress for the weather and spending time sitting outdoors in wooded and open spaces.
Class size is very limited.

Will be rescheduled to Saturday, May 23 in case of severe weather.

*Forest Bathing is the English translation of the Japanese term “Shinrin-Yoku”. Forest bathing is walking and sitting in a forest in a mindful, easy and slow way. People “bathe” in the sights, smells and surroundings. The positive effects of relaxation and body healing have been scientifically studied and verified. In Japan there are over 40 government certified Shinrin-Yoku forests.
