Are movies about poets having a moment? If three constitute a trend, we're 2/3 of the way there. Coming on the heels of Jim Jarmusch's Paterson is Terence Davies' Emily Dickinson biopic A Quiet Passion, currently showing at Landmark's Plaza Frontenac Cinema. At next week's Green Center Tea Society meeting (May 31st at 4:00pm), we will be discussing Emily Dickinson's Poem 359 (A Bird, came down the Walk - ). To get us in the mood, we'll be having an informal meetup next Tuesday (5/30) at the 3:50pm showing of A Quiet Passion. We hope to see you there, and/or the next day at 4:00pm to talk about the poem and gab about the film. |
