The River des Peres Watershed Coalition offers you an
opportunity to work with others who share a commitment to the River; to be
involved in our effort to save this highly degraded urban
stream and to learn and have fun as you go. Our coalition works within the framework of
five specialized Working Groups.

Water Quality/Clean-Ups/Teams RdP |
|
Working to document the current water quality in the River des Peres.
It is organizing regular river clean-ups, and establishing neighborhood-based
Team River des Peres groups to take responsibility for different stretches of
the River.

|
Team RdP - University City |
|
|
Team RdP - University City is a local River des Peres' program designed
to assist University City residents, business owners, and organizations
with community based clean-up efforts. If you are interested in organizing a River

|
Education/Advocacy |
|
Raising awareness of the River throughout the St. Louis area. It also serves as the
advocate arm of the Coalition, making sure the voice of the Coalition is heard whenever
the River is discussed.

|
Habitat/Greenway |
|
Focusing on the green spaces in the River's watersheds. It is working to protect natural
habitats along the River, and to connect the green spaces as a wildlife corridor and hiking/biking
trail system.

|
Fund Raising |
|
Identifying and pursuing funding sources for Coalition projects.
|
|
|
Watershed Management Plan |
|
Gathering all the research ideas and plans developed by the various Working
Groups to produce a River des Peres Watershed Management Plan. This plan will
be a guide for the future management and devlopment of the Watershed.

|
